Dean brings a blend of private and public market expertise to Accresco’s Investment Committee, shaped by his experience across top-tier institutions.
He spent half a decade at L.E.K. Consulting, advising leading private equity buyout firms on acquisitions, with a focus on financial services and healthcare roll-ups. Dean later led the strategy and operations function at Gaia, a $100M IVF insurance startup backed by Atomico and Valar Ventures, operating in both the U.S. and the UK.
What sets Dean apart:
His public markets investment experience includes roles at Insight Investment and the Central Bank of Mauritius, where he worked in the reserve management team.
Dean holds an MBA from Columbia Business School (Dean’s Honours with Distinction), a Master’s in Economics from Warwick University, and studied Philosophy, Politics & Economics at Durham University. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
On the investment committee, Dean serves as a thoughtful counterweight — always probing assumptions and challenging consensus. While trained in the Columbia tradition of value investing, he also believes in the discipline and humility embedded in the efficient market hypothesis. A typical Dean question: “What do we know/believe that the market doesn’t and how strong is our conviction?”
For clients: Dean believes market outperformance is possible, but only through deep work, differentiated insight, and earned conviction.
